Zapkut, the Hampshire (UK) based vertical panel saw specialist, is celebrating the granting of patent protection for its ZK8 and ZK10 portable vertical cutting platforms for woodworkers and signmakers.

The patent represents formal recognition of the ZK range's unique approach to panel cutting. Patents are only granted to products which feature an 'inventive step' – an innovative leap that would not have been apparent even to someone with industry knowledge.

That requirement is challenging: the awarding of the patent clearly demonstrates that these tools are not just another range of vertical panel saws.

A unique approach
That uniqueness is exactly what Zapkut Limited intended. Keith Bunker, Managing Director, explained: "I've been selling vertical panel saws for over twenty years," he commented, "And repeatedly I've been asked for a lightweight, portable, accurate cutting platform.
