A chance encounter at the North Hampshire (England) INSPIRE awards ceremony in late 2009 led to major production process improvements for Basingstoke-based Minitec UK Ltd, following the introduction of a vertical panel saw from Zapkut Limited.

Minitec manufactures a unique light construction system consisting of lengths of 'T-slotted' extruded aluminium rod. These lengths are joined together using the firm's patented Powerlock fastening system to form a virtually limitless variety of finished products. Typical applications include safety guards, IT racking systems, workbenches, conveyor systems and 'dugouts' for sports venues.
